The new catalogue is here and the Simply Succulents bundle is back! Today I’m sharing some cards made using embossing paste. My first post using this set and paper piecing you can take a look at here.
Plus with Saleabration now on, the Simply Succulents Bundle = 1 freebie on it’s own! Gotta love a freebie. We’ll be sharing more of the freebies this Saturday on the Pootlers Blog Hop!
This first card has the full background of embossing paste as the star of the show. With a Just Jade card base and sentiment/die cut embellishment to break up the white.

Paste Embossing
This was my first play (2nd attempt) with embossing paste and it was much easier and more successful than anticipated! Use the big die to cut out a stencil, lay it on plain white card and then smear the embossing paste over the top, taking care not to push it under the stencil. Then pull off at an angle (like you would Frog tape!). Do this straight away, don’t wait for it to dry or your stencil will be held captive. Ask me how I know!
Just a tickle of embossing on this next card as its just one succulent used as an embellishment. For the background I used the large die with Just Jade cardstock and mounted onto black card with foam adhesive strips. This casts gorgeous shadows as its popped up from the card. Super quick as easy to do.
I also used a different sentiment/die frame combination “Kind people are my kind of people”. Which makes for a lovely thank you card I think. Not sure if you can tell but I also added some Wink of Stella for some sparkle on the succulent leaves.

Here’s a cheeky bonus card I made with the final combo of sentiment/die frame. Plus some frosted epoxy drops. I used the same embossing paste technique but hand cut the individual plants instead.

Thanks for reading. Let me know your favorite in the comments.
