Gold and navy very shiny card – TCK 21 – Distress Detail.
This was a difficult kit for me as it’s way out of my comfort zone. I’m really not into gold and wasn’t sure on the colour combos. Still! The point of me getting these kits is to try something new and stretch the comfort zone.
So this is what I ended up with, having focused on trying new techniques.
I used the Radiant Gold gilding flakes for the outline and diagonal stripe. These were done using double sided tape and then layering and smooshing the flakes into the tape. It didn’t really care for being photographed though!
The sentiment is die cut using Gold Dust glitter card layed on the Ivory Sheen pearlescent card.
I tried out stencils for the first time using the triangular one from the kit and the Boatyard Blue expanding mousse. I also played around covering a large area with the mousse and then die cutting, which produced the scaled side of the card. Perhaps given the name I should be using more mousse…
