This is a technique I practiced during a Stampin’ Up! ‘Craft, chat and things like that’ session. Ruth Trice from Artful Stampin showed us her “stamped one sheet wonders”. I have made my own patterned backgrounds before but always covering all the paper and without layering. Stamping along and testing out this technique was a great way to push my comfort zone and learn something new. I made these 3 cards from a single A4 stamped sheet where I stamped a line down the middle. I also practiced stamping in a wreath shape which came out with more of a Christmas look so I’ll be making cards with that pattern another time.

The stamp sets I used here aren’t available anymore but this technique works with any patterns and florals. I’ve suggested a couple in the product list below: To A Wild Rose and Textured Essentials and linked to the colours I’ve used. Having seen quite a few examples from other people now this works with allsorts of stamp sets and colour combinations. So give it a go with whatever you have. 🙂

I hope you have fun giving this a go yourselves. I will be definitely be playing around with it more in future. Thanks again to Ruth for the inspiration.
