Red Glimmer Tissue Box

Oh I’m faaancy! We recently decorated our lounge and the tissues were an eyesore. So I decided to fix the problem and make a box for the tissue… box.

This is what I came up with, using Cherry Cobbler card and (retired) Real Red Glimmer card to match my deep red velvet curtains. Very lush!

It was easy to make, simply scoring around the tissue box to create the bottom box. then adding an extra smidge and duplicating for the top. The largest Stitched Nesting die was used for the top. Due to the size this did mean cutting into one of the sides. So I cut another piece of card to cover the damage. Then decorate the top accordingly. 🙂

Measurements:

  • Cherry Cobbler Base x2:
  • 7″ x 11 1/2″
  • Score at 1 1/4″ on all sides
  • On one, use the largest Stitched Nested die to cut the hole
  • Cover the damaged sides with 9″ x 1 1/4″ pieces
  • Gimmer Card Pieces:
  • 8 3/4″ x 1″ (2 pieces)
  • 4 1/4″ x 1″ (2 pieces)
  • 8 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ (1 piece) cut with largest Stitched Nested die

I plan to make them to match all the rooms in the house as they’re decorated. Very simple but effective. Easy to open and replace the tissues in too.
