Geekery! 🙂 ok so I know these do not look like lap trays. I failed miserably at getting a decent photo of the finished thing. Just assume they look both awesome and very very silly.
We needed new trays and I found these on Amazon at the time (currently out of stock) at £11.99 for two, bargain! They are Bean Bag Bazaar personalised photo frame lap trays and do what they say on the tin. You basically unzip the bean bag attachment and are left with a standard photo frame. Instead of using the mount provided, I removed the back off the photo frame and used it as a board to decorate. Once complete, I simply put the back onto the photo frame again, zipped the bean bag back on and voila!
So for the design I basically thought I’d go his and hers and raid my stash of crafty goodies for all our favourites. A lot is Stampin’ Up! but some is Kindred Stamps who specialise in pop culture geeky themes such as Hocus Pocus, Labyrinth and Star Wars 😀
We have two cats – Binx is a black modern oriental and Iris is a blue oriental, so obviously they had to feature using the Nine Lives stamp set and matching cat punch from Stampin’ Up!
Given the walrus is one of my new favourite sets they had to feature too 🙂 We’ll Walrus Be Friends.
Can you spot any other favorite sets? New or retired? There’s quite a lot going on 🙂
I’ve linked all the current Stampin’ Up! goodies used, but obviously if you make your own you’ll be picking all of your favourites. I used some coordinating dies but mostly fussy cut away. Stamped images are all coloured with my favorite Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. The lap trays I used are sold out at Amazon at the moment, but I’m sure a search online for “personalised photo frame lap trays” will point you in the direction of something you can use 🙂
