Hello! So today I’m going current and uncased and instructions! Progress. Inspiration from several different desk calendars on Pinterest but this is a different style I made up as I went along 🙂
It’s very quick and simple, so I made 3!
I started off having a play with the Butterfly Gala bundle. There’s a photo of my tests with different colour combination and my technique definitely improved quickly! I ended up preferring a black outline and then shaded stamping of a single colour. I stamped off to desaturate then stamped the whole butterfly, then came back in with more colour but only stamping down at the bottom. Something I reckon that gets easier with practice!
Base: 3 1/2 inch wide x the length of A4 or 12 x 12. A4 will give you a little extra space for gluing together.
Score at 3 1/2, 7 1/4, 11, 11 3/8 then burnish (fold and rub the bends).
The 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 end is your base for the post it’s so bend that forwards. The rest if the back of the calendar so found that round until the free end can attach back on itself.
I’d recommend gluing everything else down and attaching the back of the calendar last as the weight of the post its will help keep its shape.
Mini calendars I got from Amazon and cut a piece of cardstock a little bigger to be mounted on (8cm x 5.5cm). Post it notes (plain and butterflies) also Amazon.
The sentiment “a little note” is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, as are the butterflies. Stamped as described above. The yellow example is actually punched from the matching Botanical Butterfly Sale-a-bration DS Paper and coloured with watercolour pencils. You could also colour with Stampin’ Blends. So many matchy matchy options.
The little circle I’ve mounted the butterflies on is from a mini 3/4″ punch. The butterflies are attached with mini glue dots and you can move them around which is nice. 🙂 Butterflies finished off with Wink of Stella glitter pen for extra sparkle.
