InspireInk Blog Hop November – Theme: Christmas!

I’m hopping with the InspireInk crew again today. This month the theme is Christmas! I’m sure many of you are counting down and I suspect there may even be some trees lurking about already.

I’ve chosen to feature my new favourite Christmas stamp set: Gnome for the Holidays. Because, gnomes! Love gnomes. I’ve paired with Seaside Spray light blue to create some cute little 4″x4″ cards.

Card 1 uses the Snowflake Splendor patterned paper (my first play, more to come). I’ve made the gnome the main feature, colouring him with blends and fussycutting. The sentiment is cut out using the Classic Label punch. It fits perfectly and makes lining things up a LOT easier than trying to stamp or cut straight lines.

  • Card base in Seaside Spray: 8″ x 4″, score at 4″
  • Use Layering Squares dies to cut out the window in the card base
  • Cut your background at 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and mount to the inside of the card, making sure the patterned you want to show off is the one visible through the window. 🙂

Card 2 is almost identical but with a stitched background. Not practical for churning out a ton of Christmas cards but very soothing and very tactile. Both cards are finished off inside with some sparkly Seaside Spray ribbon for matchy matchy! All the supplies used are listed below along with the blends colours. That is apart from the stitched background which I made using other supplies. 🙂

So here they are side by side, which do you prefer? I’m leaning towards the sewn card myself, but I won’t be making many more of them! The patterned paper card however I’m going to make a stack of in all different colours. Can’t get enough of the gnomes.

Please keep hopping to see the other great projects.
