Easy peasy creme egg (or any similar sized egg) holders for Easter gifts. Bit late posting this but these are quick and easy to put together if you’re looking for something different to give this Easter. Also a good activity to do with the kids 🙂
Red band:
Cut: width of A4 sheet (or 8 1/4″) x 2″
Score long edge: 3″, 5 1/8″ and 8 1/8″
Purple egg holder:
Cut: 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Score long edge: 2″, 2 1/2″, 4 1/2″, 5″
Score short edge: 0 1/4″, 0 3/4″, 2 3/4″ and 3 1/4″ inches
Cut out the purple egg holder as shown in the above template and cut a hole in the centre. I used a 1 3/8″ circle punch but a smaller size would fit well.
Glue on 3 sides as indicated with the black squiggles and fold together. If you’ve used wet glue like I did it will give you a few seconds grace to get it all lined up right. Tombo Mono Glue is my glue of choice!
Attach the purple egg holder to the middle of the red band and insert the egg. You can then fold up the red band and glue along the thin strip at the top. That’s the holder complete!
To decorate I used 8 1/4″ of ribbon secured on the base with tear and tape (double sided sellotape). I then used circle and scallop paper punches for the disks and stamped with retired Stampin’ Up! sets I have. Of course I couldn’t resist adding my faves – some little Nuvo Jewel drops in various shades to finish it off. I will be sharing my Nuvo drop collection in a post soon, it’s getting quite glorious.
You can also increase the width to make a double or triple holder. I made a triple in a different colour combination for my hubby. 🙂
