Beautiful Butterflies

Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies

More butterflies! This time I’ve used dies rather than punching and stamping. Very different, but I like the simplicity and use of white space.

The blue card is just using the main big die from the set and the green is actually the same die but cut into individuals.

Blueberry Bushel and Tranquil Tide card stock colours used.

Velvety ribbon and a snippet of vellum to add some more texture and finish things off. I’ve only just started playing around with vellum, and will be trying out some more techniques I’ve seen soon.

Note: To use dies you do need a die cutting machine, so bear that in mind if you’ve not used them before. It basically squishes the media into the metal shapes to cut out intricate designs quickly. I’ve been using mine steadily since I bought it last year. There are a few brands, but Sizzix Big Shot is what I use and they’re available widely from many retailers as well as from SU (143236).
